We will always have words (1)

At some point I thought to myself, “there are no words”

Of course, I lied. We will always have words.

We will always have words; whether we want words to do more than they can or we try to do with them what comes to very much like trying to mend a dress with a screw or to paint a miniature with a mop.

We will always have words; either in gestures or in speech, our words provide us with endless flexibility needed to condition our minds and environment, which I’d say is real and effective.

We will always have words; whether they are to blame or to praise — wild, free and maybe irresponsible.

It is often said you can catch them, place them in alphabetical order and arrange them in dictionaries.

But in dictionaries, they are no more than phones without batteries.

Words do not live in dictionaries; they live in the mind.

Like me, there are some who have so much to say with racing minds.

But we struggle. With mental initiation, articulation, struggle with the basis of opening the lips and trusting to deliver with utmost precision.

Most often, we would rather settle. For what? you’d ask me.

for toneless whispers— audible speech without any melody.

and sometimes we think to ourselves, “there are no needs for words.”

Yet again, we will always have words; either in gestures or in speech, strength is drawn from her.

Her warmth reaches far and beyond, in the tendrils of hope, holding firmly to the very one who embraces her.
